Kelp Forests at a tipping point.

I study how warming, species interactions, and reef chemistry reshape temperate coastal ecosystems—and how science can help these underwater forests recover.

From reefs to molecules
Understanding coastal change across scales.
I’m an ecologist investigating kelp forest state shifts, the feedbacks that reinforce them, and the pathways that could support recovery.
My work combines scientific diving, field experiments, molecular ecology, metabolomics, laboratory bioassays, and ecological modeling. This interdisciplinary approach connects environmental change to the species interactions and chemical processes that shape whole ecosystems.
